Learn how to make adjustments in the field, how to let your detector tell you the Preamp Gain and A.C. Sensitivity for any site you are on. This book WILL make your detecting experience far more rewarding!
EXTRACTS FROM THE EAGLE SPECTRUM BOOK
The night before going detecting check your records for the site you are going to. Make sure the batteries are fully
charged and select the Eagle Program you used, and the adjustments made the last time you were on the site you are
going detecting on. You can then select that basic Program and make the adjustments needed before leaving home. This
will be saved in Volatile Memory until you remove your batteries. Then, on arriving on site, all you need do is switch on
your Spectrum and wait until the Programs Pg. 1/2 screen comes up with the arrow flashing opposite Coin & Jewelry. Then pull and release the
trigger for the Eagle to select the Program, complete with the adjustments you made at home. Then press the Enter button once to bring up the Ground Balance screen and follow the on screen instructions.
If you are going on a new site, start detecting in either Eagle Program 1 or 2. Auto Ground Balance and detect for a few minutes, while pulling and
holding the trigger to put the Eagle in All Metal Mode to check for any metal in the ground. Release the trigger to put the Eagle back into the
Discrim Mode. Take the D.C. Phase or Coarse G.E.B. numbers and check them against your records. Then select the basic Program used for that type of site and make the appropriate adjustments.
RETURNING TO A SCREEN TO MAKE A FURTHER ADJUSTMENT Press the Up or Down arrow button once to
return to your last adjustment screen. Make your adjustment then pull and release the trigger to carry on detecting. This
short cut still works if you re Ground Balanced after making an adjustment, such as turning High or Low Transmit Power On or Off, or raising or lowering Preamp Gain, or A C Sensitivity. |
