The official county sites are the best place to get the up to date news and other information about the individual counties. Most of these sites however, only carry stats about their own players which means that if you want to keep abreast of what is going on as the season progresses you need to look elsewhere... If you go to watch cricket it is nice to have basic stats and info about the teams and players you have come to watch. That is why this website carries 'match preview fact sheets' for many county matches, which contain the latest stats for all the players in both sides. These sheets are easy to copy and print by anybody with access to a computer. They come free and there is no reason why counties cannot make them available for spectators at each match... This website also carries a weekly stats summary for each county which contains championship and one day facts and figures. These are available from the county stats menu which lead to four other menus covering a vast range of other current season stats and trivia... top performers and performances in each competition and at each ground... Most county fans are interested in the broader picture and at some stage in the season will want to know at least some of these facts - who are the top run scorers and wicket takers in all matches - who has the most ducks? - which bowler has conceded the most runs in a one day match - biggest wins and losses - most centuries or fifties - best first class match bowling - most economical one day bowler etc. etc...The starting point for all of this is the extras menu ... |
