| The Classical History Group had an average attendance of 17 during 2008-09. The
group meets on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month in the Lounge, at Bold Street from
1.30pm to 3.30pm (except August and on Bank Holidays). We will restart on 7th
September 2009, meeting as above and we are presently putting the 2009/10 programme
together (see below). Our programme during 2008-09 was very varied, with some quite lively discussions. Sessions were held on 'The Ancient Cretans', 'Plato's Philosophy', 'Children Of Aristotle', 'New Perspective of Early Greek Literature', 'Approaches to Tragedy - Sophocles & Shakespeare', 'Cicero', 'Attila & The Romans', 'Crisis on the Danube', 'Caligula', 'Nero', 'Civil Wars', with a couple of wild cards 'A Problem with God' and 'The Age of Arthur' and many more. New members are always welcome.
