Accommodation for the Total Eclipse of the Sun in West
Cornwall U.K.
Three Bedroom Cottage
Traditional granite miner's cottage. Situated near the top of
Carn Bosavern hill with commanding views over St. Just and all of the Land's End
peninsula. A very short walk takes you to Carn rocks which is the perfect place to
view the Eclipse. Watch the shadow of the
moon rushing at you at a thousand miles per hour over the Atlantic Ocean ! This
cottage has been extensively modernised and features on the ground floor, a large
lounge with TV and video. A modern kitchen with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, washing
machine and tumble dryer. Ground floor bathroom with shower and toilet. The
top floor has one double bedroom and two single bedrooms, one with bunk beds. The
cottage will sleep 5-7 people.
Large Three Bedroom Cottage
Spacious detached cottage situated in the beautiful Tregeseal
valley, on the outskirts of St. Just. This quiet valley leads down beside a trout stream
to the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Cornwall. This area is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Scientific Interest. The house has recently been
restored, modernised and extended. This work has been done sympathetically and the
house retains its traditional Cornish character. Features include 3 bedrooms plus a large
upstairs landing with convertible sofa bed, two shower rooms, one with toilet and
bath. Two sitting rooms, large kitchen and dining room, tiled throughout.
Large rear garden and parking space. Very comfortable throughout with washing
machine, tumble drier, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Two week minimum rental.
Three Bedroom Terraced Cottage
Traditional Cornish cottage with lots of charm and character.
Situated in the village of Pendeen, close to St. Just. The house has extensive sea
views and is a short walk from the cliffs. Pendeen lies at the heart of the old
Cornish tin mining area and has many fascinating sights. The house has 3 bedrooms,
bathroom, lounge, dining room and kitchen. There is private parking and a garden
with pond.
Four Bedroom Country Cottage
This is a traditional, detached granite cottage approximately
two hundred years old, which has recently been extended. It is situated in unspoilt
countryside near to the hamlet of Sancreed. There are four bedrooms upstairs, three
double and a single, together with corner bath, toilet and shower. Downstairs
comprises a large lounge with inglenook fireplace and woodburner, kitchen/dining room and
a fifth bedroom. The property has oil central heating/domestic hot water.
Outside there is ample parking and a large lawned garden.
Caravan Site - St. Just Rugby Football Club
Situated on one of the few pieces of flat land in St. Just,
this is an ideal camp site for viewing the Eclipse. It is located in the beautiful
Tregeseal valley and is within easy walking distance of St. Just's amenities and the coast
at Cape Cornwall. Large level pitches are offered with ample private parking and
full use of the Rugby Club's facilities. These include toilets, showers, water and
electricity. Visitors may also enjoy the use of the large Clubhouse which is
licensed as a "free house" and has an extensive range of beers, spirits and soft
drinks. This site is being offered at very low rentals and is expected to fill
quickly.
Caravan Site - St. Just Cricket Club
This is about the only other flat piece of land in St. Just.
It has the advantage of having commanding views over the Land's End Peninsula and
the Atlantic Ocean. The site will be open from the 7th of August until the 20th of
August, then cricket will resume.
There is limited access to water, toilets and showers. The site is close to all the
amenities of St. Just and is within easy walking distance of Cape Cornwall and the coastal
paths.
Two Bedroom Terraced Cottage
Modernised Cornish terraced house retaining it's original
character. Situated in a quiet street, close to St. Just town centre with it's
restaurants, pubs and shops. It features a large lounge with inglenook fireplace, a
separate kitchen and downstairs bathroom. The property has a long back yard with
good access at the front and rear. Plenty of room for a family. As well as
enjoying the benefits of it's central location, the property is within easy walking
distance of the West Penwith Moors, Cape Cornwall and the cliffs.
Tregiffian Camp Site - Sennen
The site covers approximately 30 acres and is suitable for
both caravans and camping. Tregiffian offers breathtaking cliff-top views of the
Land's End peninsula and is located above the "Blue Flag" beach of Sennen
Cove. See our picture of Tregiffian on the Photo's
page. The yellow line marks the camp site. There
is drinking water, toilets and basic provisions available on the site. It is
only a short drive from the amenities of St. Just and Penzance. This site is very
competitively priced and due to it's wonderful location, we expect it to fill very
quickly.
Huge, detached Cottage in magnificent setting
This is a large, spacious, detached property standing in a
superb position on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The views from this
property are spectacular and overlook Land's End and the Longships Lighthouse. On a
clear day, one can see the Isles of Scilly, some 28 miles away. The setting is an
extremely tranquil one and is yet less than 2.5 miles from the old mining town of St. Just
in Penwith. There are miles of open moorland and coastal paths offering magnificent
views of the rugged coastline. The accommodation comprises: an Entrance porch, large
fitted kitchen/diner with gas hob, electric double oven, fridge, lovely sea views. A
very spacious lounge with inglenook fireplace, beamed ceiling and extensive sea views.
There are three large double bedrooms, all with sea views. The large bathroom
has a bath, wash basin, toilet, separate shower, heated towel rail and airing cupboard.
There is a front patio with gardens surrounding the house enjoying splendid open
views. There is ample parking space. This property will comfortably
accommodate 7 people.
Large detached Bungalow with superb sea views
This is a 3-bedroomed, double-glazed bungalow enjoying
wonderful views over the countryside towards Land's End and the Atlantic Ocean. It
is reached by a short lane and gated drive on the outskirts of St. Just.
Opening off a long entrance hallway from the front door is a a comfortable sitting room
with colour TV. This leads into a kitchen/breakfast room with an adjoining sun room/dining
room from which panoramic land and sea views may be enjoyed. The kitchen equipment
includes a gas cooker and hob unit, a microwave/combination oven, a washer/dryer and a
freezer in addition to a fridge.
At the end of the hallway is sleeping accommodation for 6 adults, one child and an infant.
This comprises a bathroom with WC, a twin bedroom with vanity basin, a spacious
double bedroom and, in the new extension, another spacious bedroom with twin beds, a
child's single bed and an en-suite shower room with WC and hand basin.
Outside, steps lead from the sun-room to a level, walled, grassy garden with picnic bench
and superb views. What a place to watch the Eclipse! There is a sheltered and
secluded garden at the rear of the property and parking for at least 2 cars.
Spacious Holiday Flats in Porthleven
Two holiday flats with superb views over the fishing village and harbour of Porthleven.
Porthleven is situated on the south coast of Cornwall and enjoys a more gentle
climate than that found on the rugged north coast. The flats occupy an excellent
cliff-top position with a south facing aspect. There are three pubs within walking
distance and the old Ship Inn is only 200 yards down the hill. See the picture on the Photo's page
Flat 1 has a beautiful large and very sunny lounge with bay window. It has a large
kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and the usual equipment. The flat has two double
bedrooms and can sleep 7 people comfortably. There is a staircase to Flat 2, which
can be let with Flat 1 as one unit, or separately. Flat 2 has one double bedroom
plus two put-up beds in the lounge.
The flat sleeps 4 people.
Three Bedroom Coastal Cottage
This property is semi-detached and is at the end of a row
of ex-Coastguard houses overlooking fields to the open sea. It is situated on the
outskirts of St. Just and is only a 1/4 mile from beautiful Cape Cornwall. The house
enjoys coastal views over the Atlantic from the Cape round to Sennen beach and Land's End,
with the Scilly Isles visible on a good day.
This a great house and is in a perfect position to watch
the Eclipse
The house is very tastefully furnished throughout and comprises: entrance
porch, hall and stairs, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, utility room and back porch,
with 3 bedrooms upstairs, one double, one twin and one single. The upstairs bathroom
has WC, bidet, basin, bath and shower. The house is fully equipped with cooker,
microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, colour TV, radio/cassette
player.
Large Victorian House in Penzance
This a beautiful 5-bedroomed Victorian house located only
yards from the promenade in the centre of Penzance. The house is decorated and
maintained to a very high standard and can comfortably accommodate 9/10 people. It
is situated very close to all of the town's amenities and the busy harbour.
There is a large bay window in the master bedroom with magnificent views over the sea and
Mounts Bay. This is the place to watch the
Eclipse in comfort.
Secluded Barn Conversion
This small converted Cornish barn is set in an idyllic valley
setting, just outside St. Just.
It is set in the 2-acre gardens of the owners property. The property comprises a
galley kitchen, with shower room, toilet and basin. Upstairs there is an open-plan
lounge/dining area/ bedroom with twin beds. French doors open onto a private patio
with access to the garden.
The barn can accommodate 4 people.
